At Brenda Renewables, we are committed to reducing the amount of organic waste that ends up in landfills. Our state-of-the-art facility, strategically located on the former Brenda Mine site, uses innovative technology to convert organic waste into renewable energy. We are proud to be a part of the circular economy, where waste is reused and repurposed in a sustainable way. Working together, we can make a positive impact on our environment and create a healthier future for generations to come.
Diverting and converting organic waste in the Okanagan Valley.
In 2017, the Brenda Renewables journey began in consultation with local Okanagan communities, municipalities, and First Nations, to utilize the local market for the conversion of Class A compost and biofuels. Our intention for the project is to grow the facility over time. This is a multi-phase development that includes removing organics from landfills, converting organic compost to its highest and best use, and RNG (renewable natural gas).

Our Story
Our team at Brenda Renewables is dedicated to working with stakeholders in the Okanagan to promote sustainable practices and help our communities reduce their environmental impact. Through our organic waste diversion program, we’re able to collect and process yard waste and food scraps, converting them into valuable compost and biofuels. By utilizing cutting-edge technology and innovative processes, we’re proud to be leading the way in organic waste management.
