Brenda Renewables uses a fully enclosed composting process that combines organic waste with bulking agents and oxygen to produce high-quality compost. Our process is designed to be safe, efficient, and sustainable.
By using best-in-class biofilter technology and operational procedures. Additionally, our isolated composting facility is located 25 kilometres away from the nearest house to further minimize any potential odour impact.
Our main entrance is off Highway 97C, and we only use Princeton Avenue, in Peachland, BC, in emergency situations. Our facility access is designed to minimize traffic impact and inconvenience to the surrounding community.
We are water negative facility. Any excess contact water not reused onsite is hauled offsite for appropriate treatment.
Curbside collection programs are run by your local government. For yard waste and organics collection in the Central Okanagan, check with the Regional District of Central Okanagan. We're the processing destination, not the hauler.
The majority of compost generated at the facility will be used to vegetate the lands of the old Brenda Mine, with some also being provided to the community of Peachland for use in enhancing the landscaping of community gardens and parks.
